an outing (or don't squander the beautiful days hiding inside)

we have had a string of beautiful days.

it has been warm and bright.

today we went for a hike on petticoat hill reservation.

we only went partway up, me holding his hands like
he was climbing a staircase or simply carrying him.
i realized how strong i have gotten as i piggy-backed
a thirty pound toddler back down the steep hill.
at the bottom we had a little snack (local apples.)
it was an all-round delightful outing. i love living here.
