we stage a fashion shoot

these dolls came to us as gift. they were were unfinished. i gave them faces and hair rather quickly. the clothes were slow to follow. the dolls are so tiny. my attempts at sewing tiny clothes failed utterly. i didn't want to just glue fabric around them so i just let them stay naked.

but recently, as he had been trying to dress and undress himself, he told me the "dollies need clo-esthes." so, i had to try again, but since the last time i had started knitting socks with fine yarn and small needles. it was the perfect scale for doll dresses.
he had fun helping with the photo shoot. it was late afternoon so we kept getting shadows in the picture. but he was good at balancing the dolls so they would stand up on their own.

thank you aunt genny, though i have been slow to put up the picture, there has been much fun and splashing.

first day of laundry on the line

outside in the air

so cold today (high of 15) but by 5 o'clock cabin fever was running high. it took 10 minutes to get him dressed and i couldn't get him to wear his boots.
but what a sigh a relief to be out in the air, cold as it was. the snow is frozen into a solid mass that crunches squeakly when you walk on it. and of course there are big sticks to find and wave about excitedly.
