(Finally) First Day!

First and Fourth Grade: back to school

She does, too.

Also she was cheering for her sitter who was coming since it is not her first day yet.

Finally it is the first day of Preschool

It is a two week summer program but she is thrilled. 

After all she has had that backpack ready since last year.

Otto was very skeptical about the need to take pictures, he's been doing this for 2 years. 

Also he is confused to be going to Preschool after he became a KINDERGARTNER in June.

Preschool doesn't officially start until next Tuesday, but Otto packed his backpack to walk Leo to school.

School is old hat. This year he is all day Monday, Wednesday and Friday. His backpack is full of his extra change of clothes, Rest Time blanket and pillow, and his lunch bag containing two snacks, a lunch and milk money.
He had me leave him at the playground gate with the teacher. Before leaving the house, we talked about the drop off and he said,
"I have an idea. I will give you a good hug and a good kiss because you will miss me."

The whole team walked him to school, Mama with Sequel asleep in the carrier and Papa walking his bike. Papa said good-bye at the door. Mama walked him into the classroom. In no time he was engrossed in an alphabet puzzle and Mama was waving good-bye. It was like we both had been doing it for weeks already.

When I picked him up 2 and 1/2 hours later, he didn't want to leave and asked "when is it a school day again?"
